Creamed Chicken & Biscuits  
COST: $10
STATUS: contains dairy & meat products



INGREDIENTS:
1/2 large onion
3 carrots
2 celery stalks
1 1/2 teaspoons butter
4 cups chopped chicken
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup milk
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 package of frozen biscuits (thawed)

DIRECTIONS:
Preheat ove to 350 degrees. Grease the bottom and sides of an 11 x 7 inch baking dish.

Chop the chicken and cook in skillet.

Chop the onion. Heat butter in skillet until melted. Stir in onion. Saute until tender.

Combine onion, cicken, soup, sour cream, milk, carrots & celery in a medium bowl and mix well. Spoon mixture into prepared baking dish. Bake for 15 minutes. Remove from oven.

Sprinkle baked layer with 3/4 cup of the cheese. Arange the biscuits in single layer over top. Sprinkle remaining cheese.

Bake until biscuits are golden brown and the sauce is bubbly about 20-25 minutes longer. Serve immediately.
